Rules and Regulations for Students
It shall be misconduct for a Student of the College
1. To be absent from lectures and other prescribed assignments without permission or reasonable excuse. Any
student who is absent without proper leave from lectures, tutorials or practical classes for a total of fourteen
(14) days or more in any semester shall be deemed not to have satisfied the minimum attendance
requirements for the semester. Such defaulting students shall not be allowed to take part in the end of
Semester examinations.
2. To cheat in examinations or refuse to write them.
3. To indulge in any anti-social activities such as prostitution or homosexuality
4. To be insubordinate
Students must adhere to these rules
- Report to school on time and be punctual
- All females will be in the prescribed uniform when in school
- Wear laboratory coat and other protective wear when in the laboratory for practical lessons
- Switch off mobile phones during lecture and practical lesson hours
- Students are not allowed to eat, drink or play in the laboratory or classroom
- Negligent damage to laboratory equipment, apparatus or loss of library books is payable
- Avoid any malpractice in exams, quizzes and class tests
- Be respectful and courteous to school authorities, lecturers, and practical facilitators
- Drinking, theft and use of drugs will result in dismissal.
Absence from Examination
Except for the following approved reasons no student shall absent himself / herself from examinations.
1. A candidate who falls sick during examination should report immediately to the invigilator who shall
take the necessary action.
Medical report brought in for any candidate prior to or during the examination for ill-health or who was
seen during the examination period by the College medical personnel for treatment but could not continue
or finish the examination because of the ill-health, would be honoured only by the Academic Board if it is
submitted through the Registrar.
Miscellaneous
1. Students are not allowed to undertake business activities on campus.
2. No student is allowed to carry any form of arms or ammunition, whether licensed or unlicensed, on campus.
3. Students shall maintain at all times a convenient environment that supports the basic academic and official
work.This means that students shall keep noise-making to a minimum level.
4. Drunken and disorderly behavior on the campus constitutes a serious breach of discipline.
5. Use of drugs and smoking is forbidden before, during and after lectures and within all college premises
Penalties for Breach of Discipline
A student who is deemed in breach of discipline may be liable to one or more of the following penalties:
- A warning
- A reprimand
- A fine
- Suspension from the use of specified College services or facilities for a stated period.
- Requirement to make good to the satisfaction of the College any damage or injury caused to the College.
- Rustication for a stated period.
- Withdrawal from the College for cheating in examinations.
- Expulsion from the College.
Rules on Admission of Students
- Only students who fully satisfy the entry requirements for their program(s) of study can be admitted to the College. Any student found not to be fully qualified will be withdrawn immediately if found out. If found out after graduation the College shall withdraw the Diploma awarded.
- A student found to have gained admission into the College through fraud or misrepresentation may be liable to prosecution and dismissal.
New Students
1. On arrival on campus, new students shall register at their respective departments.
2. Student shall pay the necessary charges/fees as shall be determined by the Academic Board
Continuing Students
Continuing students shall also register at their respective departments after the necessary formalities at the
Administration have been completed
Penalty for Late Registration
1. A fine determined from time to time for each day of absence shall be imposed on both new and continuing
students.
2. No registration shall be allowed after two weeks of re-opening
Penalty for Non-registration
Students who fail to register shall lose their students status.
